Michael A. Bell is a professor of ecology and evolution at Stony Brook University. He studies the evolutionary biology of the threespine stickleback fish and teaches a course on Darwinian medicine. He uses genetics, development, phenotypic variation, contemporary evolution and paleontology to investigate the mechanisms that cause patterns of variation in time and space.
