Mark Serreze, geographer and director of the National Snow and Ice Data Center at the University of Colorado, Boulder, has studied the Arctic since his first trip there in the early 1980s. In this Hangout, Serreze spoke with me about the changes he's seen over the decades, the implications of the loss of Arctic sea ice, and how they might be addressed.
