Anna Lena Phillips, a contributing editor of American Scientist, is editor of Ecotone and a lecturer in the creative writing department at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Her travel-sized guide to poetic forms, A Pocket Book of Forms, is forthcoming in 2013; her writing appears in Open Letters Monthly, International Poetry Review, BlazeVOX and the Anthology of Appalachian Writers, among other journals.
