Tommy Wright

Tommy Wright is chief of the Statistical Research Division of the U.S. Bureau of the Census. He earned his Ph.D. in statistics from Ohio State University and served both on the research staff of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and as a professor at the University of Tennessee and Knoxville College before joining the Census Bureau, where he has also served as a research fellow. His research interests include probability sampling theory, design of sample surveys, exact estimation methods, applied probability and elementary combinatorics. He is an elected member of the International Statistical Institute and a Fellow of the American Statistical Association.
