Mary H. Schweitzer

Mary H. Schweitzer received her Ph.D. in biology from Montana State University in 1995. She is a professor in marine, earth and atmospheric sciences at North Carolina State University. Her research focuses on molecular paleontology, molecular diagenesis and taphonomy (the examination of exceptionally well preserved fossils-those with soft tissues, color patterns or original hard-part mineralogy or molecular signals preserved) and the evolution of physiological and reproductive strategies in dinosaurs and their bird descendants.
