Clyde Hertzman
Clyde Hertzman completed his training in medicine, community medicine and epidemiology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and has been on the faculty in the Department of Health Care and Epidemiology at the University of British Columbia since 1985. He is a Fellow of both the Program in Population Health and the Program in Human Development of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research. Through the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, he has played a central role in developing the conceptual framework for the “determinants of health” and elucidating the special role of early childhood development as a determinant of health.
