Nader Haghighipour

Nader Haghighipour is an Astronomer at the Institute for Astronomy (IfA) at the University of Hawaii-Manoa. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1999. After a few years of postdoctoral research at the University of California-Irvine, Northwestern University's Dearborn Observatory, and the Department of Terrestrial Magnetism at the Carnegie Institution of Washington in Washington, D.C., Haghighipour joined the faculty of the IfA in 2004 where he has been since. His research focuses on the formation, detection and dynamical evolution of planetary systems with two or more stars. He also studies the formation of habitable planets in our solar system and in extrasolar planets.
