Michael Bérubé is Edwin Erle Sparks Professor of Literature at Pennsylvania State University. He is the editor of the Norton Library Edition of the 1818 text of Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus, by Mary Shelley (W. W. Norton, 2021). His most recent book, coauthored with Jennifer Ruth, is It’s Not Free Speech: Race, Democracy, and the Future of Academic Freedom (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2022).
