Max Fink is an emeritus professor of psychiatry and neurology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, an attending psychiatrist in the research department at the Long Island Jewish Hillside Medical Center, and a professor of psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He has been active in electroshock research since 1952. He published the textbook Convulsive Therapy: Theory and Practice in 1979 and launched the quarterly scientific journal Convulsive Therapy in 1985.
