Flavio S. Anselmetti received his Ph.D. from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich in 1994. He then spent four years in postdoctoral training@the University of Miami. There Anselmetti gained considerable experience studying marine sediments before he returned to his native Switzerland and joined the Geological Institute@ETH, where he currently heads the Limnogeology Laboratory.
