As the seat of human consciousness, heads are perhaps not surprisingly a point of focus for humans. We consider them to be the source of control, the thing that leads, and even the part that should be at the top, because of the way that our bodies are laid out. With our tendency to anthropomorphize the world around us, it’s no wonder that the term head has been applied to a myriad of uses with inanimate objects, from publications to plumbing and nearly everything in between.
