Ellen Morris Bishop

Ellen Morris Bishop has written five books about the geology of the Pacific Northwest for the general public, including Living With Thunder (2025), which includes Indigenous insights to regional geology, and the forthcoming book Patterns in Stone. She is the co-founder, with Roger Amerman (Choctaw), of the Society for Ethnogeology and Geoarcheology. Bishop holds a Ph.D. in geology from Oregon State University, with specialization in the pretertiary terranes of eastern Oregon.
