Ainissa Ramirez received her PhD in materials science from Stanford University, and later served on the faculty of engineering at Yale University. She was recently the Kluge Chair in Technology and Society at the Library of Congress, as well as an Arthur Molella Distinguished Fellow at the Smithsonian Institution.
