More examples of American Scientist’s finest artwork
This installment is the second in this year of centennial celebrations to feature American Scientist’s illustrations, one of the magazine’s most defining features. Examples have been selected to highlight the range of illustrations created to accompany articles published within the past two decades, when the magazine’s visual tradition truly bloomed. Staff and freelance artists have created illustrations to communicate the detail of research in ways that words alone could not. Their handiwork presents science in all its complex and beautiful forms while allowing subjects to be displayed and understood in original and accessible formats.
