Whatever Became of Holography?
The once-futuristic technology has less public glamour nowadays, but it still plays a current role in science

A generation ago, hologram exhibitions attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers worldwide, and a brilliant future was predicted for the technology. As holography became ubiquitous, however, it lost some of it's luster to the public and scientific eye alike. Yet innovations and new applications continue, as holography makes important commercial and technological contributions, albeit without the notice it once received.
