As the publisher of this book I want to thank the reviewer, not only for his insight and good comments but I would also like to express my sympathy for his comments on pricing. I want to point out a few aspects:
a. The substantial expenses that go into the editing process which I am sure the authors have appreciated.
b. The significant cost of designing a book and to print a high quality color book of 450 pp.
c. The risk factor that is inherent in all publishing decisions.
d. A subsequent paperback can have a reduced price because some of the initial costs are already covered (contrary to customary belief, the cost of binding is not the most important aspect).
e. A comparison with art books that require much less editorial input and have an 'a priori' larger market, as well as with scientific technical books of this production quality (color) can be done easily in the Internet.
Again, thanks for the insightful review.
