I'm confused by the figure representing the publication process. Are there really scientific domains where "authors pay publisher" is de rigueur?
In my discipline, this is referred to as "vanity press" in a most disparaging way. If you pay to publish (other than say, fees to reproduce color figures), then your work is much less respected.
