Walter Goetz

Biography

Walter Goetz received his Ph.D. from the Center for Planetary Science at the University of Copenhagen in 2002. He is a physicist at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Katlenberg-Lindau, Germany, and a member of the team that developed the robotic-arm camera for the Phoenix lander. He participated full time with the Phoenix primary mission operations at the University of Arizona, Tucson, in 2008, and with the Mars Exploration Rover primary mission operations at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2004. He is part of the team developing instruments for the European Space Agency’s upcoming ExoMars rover.
