Biography

Stephen Nowicki is Bass Fellow and Professor of Biology, and Dean of Undergraduate Education, at Duke University, with a B.S. from Tufts University and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. He has worked collaboratively with William A. Searcy on the function and development of animal signals using bird song as a model system for more than 10 years. He is author, with Searcy, of The Evolution of Animal Communication: Reliability and Deception in Signaling Systems (2005, Princeton University Press).
