Biography

Sheldon Rothblatt is professor emeritus of history and a faculty associate of the Center for Studies in Higher Education (which he directed from 1989 to 1996) at the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of The Modern University and Its Discontents: The Fate of Newman's Legacies in Britain and America (Cambridge University Press, 1997).
