Rachel AnkenyBiography
Rachel A. Ankeny is director of and senior lecturer in the History
and Philosophy of Science Unit at the University of Sydney in
Australia. Her research interests in bioethics include ethical
issues in transplantation policy and process, live organ donation,
and genetic testing and screening. In the history and philosophy of
science, she has done work on the roles of models and case-based
reasoning in science, model organisms (particularly the nematode
Caenorhabditis elegans), reductionism and disease, and
the history of contemporary life sciences. She currently serves as
editor for bioethics and philosophy of medicine for the
international journal Metascience.
