Norman MyersBiography
Norman Myers is a fellow of the University of Oxford and an adjunct
professor at Duke University. In the early 1970s he was the first to
demonstrate that we are in the opening phase of a mass extinction of
species. In the late 1980s he propounded the conservation strategy
of identifying biodiversity hotspots, showing that roughly
two-fifths of all species are confined to just 1.4 percent of the
planet's land surface.
