Nader Haghighipour

Biography

Nader Haghighipour is a planetary dynamicist at the Institute for Astronomy and the Astrobiology Institute at the University of Hawaii-Manoa. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1999. Soon after receiving his doctorate, he spent a year as a visiting professor at the University of California, Irvine. He also did research at Northwestern University's Dearborn Observatory and in the Department of Terrestrial Magnetism at the Carnegie Institution of Washington in Washington, D.C. Although his research focuses on the formation, detection and dynamical evolution of extrasolar planets, his scientific interests also include topics in astrobiology, general relativity and the formation of Earth.
