Biography

Michael Werner has been working on the Space Infrared Telescope Facility (SIRTF), now the Spitzer Space Telescope, since 1977 and has been project scientist since 1984. He is also chief scientist for astronomy and physics at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He received his Ph.D. in astronomy from Cornell University in 1968.
