Biography

Michael Marder is a professor of physics in the Center for Nonlinear Dynamics at the University of Texas at Austin and co-director of UTeach, one of the nation’s largest programs preparing secondary, math, science and computer science teachers. His research focuses on the mechanics of solids, particularly the fracture of brittle materials. He is author of Condensed Matter Physics (Wiley).
