Biography

Judith A. McKenzie obtained a doctorate in geology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich in 1976. During her studies in Zurich and later, while working at the University of Florida in Gainesville, she investigated the chemical and biochemical sedimentation in both modern lakes and oceans. In 1996 she became a professor of earth system sciences at the Geological Institute at ETH.
