Joseph Polchinski

Biography

Joseph Polchinski is a professor of physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a permanent member of the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics. He is the author of the two-volume text String Theory (Cambridge University Press, 1998). A modified version of his review, with additional technical notes, is available on the Web site Cosmic Variance.
