Biography

Harry L. Swinney is a professor of physics in the Center for Nonlinear Dynamics at the University of Texas at Austin, and director of UT Austin’s Center for Nonlinear Dynamics. He studies how ordered and chaotic spatial patterns arise and evolve in fluid flows, chemical systems and granular media. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences.
