Dominic Massaro

Biography

Dominic W. Massaro is emeritus and research professor in the Departments of Psychology and Computer Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and president of Psyentific Mind, a company devoted to using behavioral science and technology to extend the range of the human mind. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Previously, he taught at the University of Wisconsin from 1970 to 1979. He is the author of, among other books, Perceiving Talking Faces: From Speech Perception to a Behavioral Principle (Cambridge, MA: MIT Press, 1998). His current interest is aimed at developing applications that immerse preschool children in writing to allow them to learn to read naturally.
