Dolores Hayden

Biography

Dolores Hayden is a professor of architecture, urbanism and American studies at Yale. Her nonfiction titles on the history of American landscapes include Building Suburbia: Green Fields and Urban Growth, 1820-2000 (Pantheon, 2003) and The Power of Place: Urban Landscapes as Public History (The MIT Press, 1997). Her poems have appeared in The Yale Review, Slate, Raritan, the American Scholar, and Best American Poetry. Her most recent poetry collection is Nymph, Dun, and Spinner (WordTech Communications, 2010). Her website is doloreshayden.com.
