Dolores Hayden is a professor of architecture, urbanism and American studies at Yale. Her nonfiction titles on the history of American landscapes include Building Suburbia: Green Fields and Urban Growth, 1820-2000 (Pantheon, 2003) and The Power of Place: Urban Landscapes as Public History (The MIT Press, 1997). Her poems have appeared in The Yale Review, Slate, Raritan, the American Scholar, and Best American Poetry.
