Biography

David Weatherall was Regius Professor of Medicine and director of the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine at the University of Oxford. In retirement he focuses mainly on the medical problems of the developing world. He has published widely on the inherited anemias and many aspects of the modern biomedical scene, and is the author of Science and the Quiet Art (W. W. Norton, 1995).
