Biography

Celia M. Smith obtained her doctorate in biological sciences from Stanford University in 1983. After doing postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley, and at the Smithsonian Institution, she joined the faculty of the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the Department of Botany
