Biography

Anna Lena Phillips is senior editor and book review editor at American Scientist. Her writing appears in Open Letters Monthly, International Poetry Review, BlazeVOX and the Anthology of Appalachian Writers, among other journals. A recipient of the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg prize, the Nazim Hikmet Poetry Award and the Southern Women Writers Conference Emerging Writers Award in poetry, she holds an MFA in creative writing from Emerson College. She is poetry editor of the online journal Fringe, now in its sixth year of publication.
