Letters to the Editors

We are always interested in hearing from our readers. You can write to us by e-mail at editors@amscionline.org or at the street address below. Please observe the following guidelines:

  1. Be concise. We rarely publish letters of more than 250 words.
  2. Name the article or column that occasions your letter.
  3. Be timely. We generally choose letters that address the two most-recent issues of the magazine.
  4. We cannot accept e-mail attachments.
  5. Please include your full name and contact information.
  6. Let us know whether you would prefer to be identified by your city of residence or by your institution.

We value every letter we receive, even though space constraints prevent us from printing all but a few. We also reserve the right to edit letters for length and clarity. Correspondence may be directed to:

Pizza Lunch Podcasts

About once a month at Sigma Xi headquarters, we liven up the lunch hour with an American Scientist Pizza Lunch talk. In these informal lectures, scientists describe new research to nonscientists. The series is light on jargon but heavy on solid science. Each Pizza Lunch offers an in-depth look at its subject, whether it's bedbugs or the smart grid. Click below to read about and download these talks -- and to subscribe!
